change copyright text from any wordpress theme premium or free using notepad++
Is there any editing work around where code editing of inside of an script is needed to be edited?then notepad++ is the promising tool.i think its fair to say im the only one who uses notepad for this type of work.but believe me when i say,it makes working with code a whole lot easier.its most useful feature is the find tool, which can be used to look for a specific code inside a folder of php coded files.I said before that a post featuring how to use this free but wonderful software to edit codes like a pro is coming soon. Here it is now.
We will now tackle the problem of editing a specific part of a wordpress theme. There are many wordpress themes that are free but the creator holds some part of the theme to be used as his advert. We don't mind that, but sometime we need to occupy these space for our selves.Take a look at the screen shot below
The theme is great and free, but when you see the next two picture you will see that the creator has used some space which could be beautifully used for some words of introduction of my website.
The wordpress dashboard does not offer any widget or option where I can edit these sentence, and the theme maker is saying I could buy theme and remove them.
But I cant buy,so I use notepad++.
First I download the theme and unzip it.
Then take any php file, here footer.php as it may contain the footer info I want to change. Right click and select edit with notepad++. The theme has codes I cant decode! Then I copy the text I need to change from the theme ,click search>find in files, select the theme folder as search area, and paste the text. Finally click search. It will start searching Yes,there is a match in function.php! Lets open it up I again search but in this file only. The code containing the text comes visible.I edit that to my text. Next to the copyright footer text, I just select portion of the full text now and search the folder again Yes on one php there is a match.Editing it will make the theme suited to my words of choice.
Now you've seen how to use notepad++ to change copyright text from any wordpress theme premium or free both. This idea can be used for many changes too.

8 usefull tools for maintaining a great freelancing streak
there are a lot of different types of freelancing works.most of them need some specific knowledge of software or script workings.as we have categorized the types of freelance works, now we proceed to the tools that we need to fulfill these works.every job may need tools or software that are out of our discussion capability, but we can learn to use some that come in handy in almost every online works.you may find that some works that you thought difficult are, actually real easy ones.lets dig in.
1.webhost:there are debates about which is the easiest freelancing work.although many comes to mind, website script installing is a type of job every freelancer wants to bag.why is that?its simple to install, but the outcome is rich and powerful.cms, blog, forum, wiki, lms and every other website may be power started using corresponding webscript.but there has to be a webhost to learn how to install these scripts, before you take down work for installing scripts in a client server.so everyone at first need to practice installing for themselves at a real webhost.there are a lot of freewebhost out there which are sufficient enough to try and learn installing scripts.they come with control panel, mysql data base, email and even pretty moderate file size limited file manager.ill post a new article featuring some of the free webhost out there.
2.xampp:if anyone cant find good free host for some script, they can use xampp for windows to try that on their local machine.the guidelines are pretty straight forward.and you can use it without internet connection.the home pc works as the server in this case.
3.notepad++:is there any editing work around where code editing of inside of an script is needed to be edited?then notepad++ is the promising tool.i think its fair to say im the only one who uses notepad for this type of work.but believe me when i say,it makes working with code a whole lot easier.its most useful feature is the find tool, which can be used to look for a specific code inside a folder of php coded files.a post featuring how to use this free but wonderful sofware to edit codes like a pro is coming soon.
4.rapidleech:
its a popular script for downloading files from various filehosts.there are a lot of variants of this script too.why is this needed for freelancing?in one word:backup.the most ignored feature of rapidleech is that it can upload files to a lot of filehosts in lightening fast time, depending on the speed of the server.it can even email the files.using rapidleech, one can restore and backup big sized websites within minutes.and without downloading anything to the pc ever!where it could take one hour, rapidleech does it in 10 minutes.a post detailing how to use rapidleech to backup and restore websites is coming.
5.photoshop:ps is needed for logo and banner making.but another use of ps is to slice pdf templates into wordress templates.
we will use photoshop with a plugin called divine project to do this in a later article.
6pixlr:this tool is a personal favourite of mine.it is a online photo editor, best for making quick edit or making simple logo or banner, without using the expensive photoshop.its totally online, and does not load much on your computer.and as its a online tool, one can use it anywhere.a simple logo making will be shown later.
6.gmail:
you must have an email account to have your presence in the freelancesphere, and use gmail for that.it has great use for labels to organize, and to save backups of your works.its the most safe place, safer than other filehosts.also, there is a trick where you can use google drive, gmail and calender to get auto update of emails as sms, free!google this now.
7.bulk category and direct install:this is a wordpress plugin.it can be used to create a whole lot of category at once.a simple plugin makes the making of menus really easy.another plugin is direct install.if you have a direct download link for a theme or plugin, this tool can be used to directly install them without downloading to pc and uploding again.
8.simplescript and installatron:this two online script insaller may be used to install scripts on any webhost.they just require some info and installs them really quick.my personal pick is the later one, because it works even on very slow free hosts too.

Useful methods for maintaining a great freelancing career
In order to be a winning, triumphant and successful freelancer you have to transform the way you handle your computer and internet living.
May be you don’t know this, but working in front of a computer is wearisome, dull and even boring at times. So you may have spent a lot of time in front of a computer. But actually it was not work, you were just playing games or watching videos and twitting or other stuff. It was not wearisome, dull and boring at all. In fact they were the driving force that kept you occupied. This will not be the same in case of spending time with freelancing. In fact, they are very much stressful for a definite period of time and can make you want to quit the whole idea of freelancing. So there must be some change how you do your computer timing to synchronies with freelancing. I have made the following points which may be useful for all of you.
1.Specific Time:Make a specific time intended for freelancing only. How should you choose this time may make it less stressful and hectic. For my part, I chose a time which formerly was not utilized by me at all. It is the time when I mostly sleep too long. I decided to wake up more early, at least two hours before I do otherwise. It is not difficult for me as I usually sleep late.
2.Keep txt info:This is directly helpful in speeding up your freelancing job. Keep a simple txt notepad file on desktop with required login info to your clients website cpanel or other info. Whenever making a new mysql database copy its name and username for it and also it’s password and save it in the txt file. This makes a whole lot of difference when working. You may receive the login info by private message or email and true, it would be stored there and you can access them later. But it is really tiresome to find that definite pm or email from all other. So keep the necessary info at close distance. See how I kept mine.
3. Labels: If you use gmail, then make labels for the above info. Send email to yourself containing username and password for any login info. It will save a lot of time from resetting password. Look how I named my labels.
4.backup:whenever working with a pre made website, especially with mysql, take a zipped backup.then upload that to some personal filehosting site.also take a downloaded version in the pc.if possible, email the zip to personal email.even break it down if email service cant take much big filesize.ill show how to take a backup and upload it without downloading it.its great for people who do a lot of whole website developing from a pre made site.its important to keep the old site available if the new site doesnt pan out with the client.
5.bullet points: next comes the idea that helps a lot with synchonising the freelancing jobs.take small notes about what to do next.the best time to do this is when travelling and being stuck in a jam.also keep in mind that using mobiles memo or notepad comes in handy.
6.search:before applying for a job,be sure that Its do able.there are many freelancing works which are easy but you havent done them before.dont worry.usually its appearant to you if the job may be accomplished by you.do a little search realted to the task.then apply for it.
7.pop box:when browsing the freelancing sites sometime a job pops up which was just posted by someone.if the job headline seems your area of expertise, then at once apply.being the first to apply for a job helps a lot to bag it

So they go to freelancing sites and asks someone to do the work. It basically consist of
1.Understanding what the client wants to accomplish.

That’s it! You won’t have to actually do the task, you will find a way to do the task easily.

2.Searching for a plugin that would accomplish the task: Look for the website type, if it’s a wordpress website, search in the wordpress plugin directory. Or you can directly search in any search engine. Include these word in the search keywords : ad on every article wordpress . Voila! The results that will be shown will most likely have a lot of plugins. Just read the description of the plugins. Find out which will be most suitable for the client.
3.Installing the plugin on the website: Once you find the appropriate one, download it. It will be most cases a zipped file. Writing jobs are really easy for those who have the tiniest amount of creativity. It means you can produce good writings yourself. It may be inspired by some article elsewhere, but it’s not bad. Inspiration is the first step to creativity. You can not follow the original concept to the whole length though, you have to come up with your stuff too.
The type of writing works that are found in freelancing jobs are:
1.Typical academic writing
2.Blog post
3.Forum post
4.Facebook comment
5.Review writing
6.Storybook or novel writing
7.Shadow writing or ghost writing
8.Idea writing
9.Seo article optimization
10.Report writing.
11.Description writing
All of them are fairly easy, only the topic seo article optimization may be confusing to be found here. But it’s not all that bad. It’ll be clear in a while.
1.Typical academic writing: There are a lot of students who need their assignment done in a short time, but it’s not possible for them to make up the best of the subject. Meanwhile, you may be a freelancer who is proficient in that topic or subject. As a result, you can help him out by doing the assignment. Both of you would use the internet to find useful information, but it’ll be easier for you as you know which information to look for, as you have already done this before.
Again it’s not necessary for you to know the topic by heart. It’s known to all academic writings vary in quality by the factor of presentation style. You can do almost any type of assignment, using your skills of knowing how to do an academic assignment and the searching the internet. Unless it is a really hard math or physics problem, you’re up for the job.
2.Blog post: It’s a common knowledge that one has to update his blog or website regularly. But these days many people run a number of blogs and maintaining all of them is not possible. So they look for a writer who would produce it for them. Don’t worry, no one will be asking you to do a very hard post. Generally you will be provided with some keywords and then asked to write about them. The important thing is the keyword of the article, in easy words, it’s the main topic of the article. You will be asked to write upto 500 words in the article. It’s not that hard, you just need to brainstorm your ideas, think about the keyword, research a little and you are ready to write.
3.Forum post: A forum stays alive for it’s users communication. There are many ask and answer forums, and you may be hired to answer other peoples questions. The forum may be a hosting support forum, tech support forum where a lot of trivial questions are asked daily. Like what is the nameserver of this hosting is a typical question in hosting forums. And does this phone has 3g support may be a question in a tech forum. You won’t find it hard to answer these questions. Most people just can’t find them and ask them in a minute of searching, even though the answer is right there.
4.Facebook comment:It’s an easy job, as you can guess from the name of it. Someone is writing something important, or at least important to him and he needs like and comments or real people. He can hire you for your expertise!
5.Review writing: It’s like a books review writing or a tv show or movie review writing. You need to read some of the review of this type and you can write them too. Just don’t be too much strict, mix it up a little. Report and description writing are similar works.
6.Story writing: Some one will mention a genre of the story and you will write it. Like teen romance and fantasy novels are very popular now a days. So they will ask you to write one. They may also provide the plot or gist of the story, you’ll need to expand it to a novel with good quality. You must be familiarized with the recent best sellers to be skilled for this.
7.Shadow or ghost writing: When they ask you to write a story book which they will publish as their own, with out any mention of you whatsoever is called shadow or ghostwriting.
8.Idea writing: It’s the type of job which will ask you how to renovate an idea or invent one.
9.Seo article optimization: It’s the search engine optimized writing task. But most of the time you already have the article, you just need to make it polished for the search engines. Make the desired level of keyword density, write upto that length and other seo work. It’s easy as the article will be already there, you just need to say it in a different way. It’s also called article rewriting.

Which skills for freelancing
Which skill may be of use in freelancing?
If you are new to the whole freelancing concept, then at first you have to figure out which skill you should be using to do your online work. It may be a lot easier if you just try a simple assessment of the jobs posted on various freelancing websites. Many people sign up a lot of hope of doing freelancing income, but just after signing in, they are faced with a question of which job is doable by them. They can guess the type of work they will be required to do when they sign up, as every freelancing site has an option to choose which skills the freelancer will deal with when signing up. Even that time it is not possible to fully understand the works. Only after browsing the required jobs posted by various people, they start to feel like freelancing should be done only by the professionals, who have a lot of knowledge on coding, academics and internet. After being dishearten they sign out and never come back.
It is the intention of this article to get you familiarized with the type of works found in freelancing sites, the skills associated with them, and how to start your first freelancing journey by mastering them.
First of all, you need to be sure which type of work you’ll be doing. When you are completely new, then you should start with the easier ones. I’ve made a list of jobs according to their difficulties:
Easy:
1. Writing articles
2. Plug-in install
3.Other easy stuff
Medium:
1.Website install(any kind of script)
2.Editing website or website template
3.Making template from scratch
4.Logo or banner designing
5.Conversion work(like pdf to epub)
6.Moving website between hosts
7.Virtual assistant
Hard:
1.New website development
2.Writing programs
3.Making apps for mobile
4.Making software or bots
5.Seo optimization
As you can see, most of them are in the medium category, and even if you don’t know how to do any of them, here’s the good news, you can learn to develop the skills required to do them. And when I say learning, many of you may think it’s the hardest part, but learning to install any website script is a real easy job, the difference is some choose to learn it, very easily too, and other thinks that it’s too hard for them to learn. If you are willing to learn, you can go upto the medium category skills and earn utilizing them. Most of the skills are very easy to develop when you have some kind of easy and clear to understand documentation. This site will provide just the same. Leave any of your questions in the comments stream.

Withdrawing to moneybookers, from there to my bank
iffat
best bank for moneybookers in bangladesh, how to add bangladeshi bank account in moneybookers, which bank to chose for moneybookers
7 comments
My money was processed to
moneybookers from freelancer on the given date.I at once started to transfer
the money from moneybookers to my bank account in Bangladesh.I had already
selected Mutual Trust Bank in moneybookers, and my address was verified
before. So I withdrew the money. It was processed in the moneybookers side that
day,but I received the money after eight day in Bangladesh. One of the clerks at
the Mutual Trust Bank called me and asked me what was the remittance source.I told them it was freelancing and they deposited
the money on my bank account. The next day I went to the atm and got my money.
I knew beforehand that Dutch
Bangla Bnak Limited cuts 20$ from the tolat money,as they use a via bank or
middle bank.Another bamk,Brac Bank had started cutting 15$ from December 2012
.So I decided to take a chance with Mutual Trust Bank ,and they did’t cut a
penny from the original money!
Most freelancers in
Bangladesh use Brac or DBBL to transfer money, and they are very angry with the
cutting of 15/20 dollars from the total money.I’m glad I did my research online
and decided to go with Mutual Trust Bank.
Same is the case in many
other countries. My advice is don’t just select the most obvious bank, do a
little research first.
Conversation with the buyer:
This is my reply to when I
buyer asked what I would need to start my work
“ I'll need access to your joomla
backend user/pass.and also to your hosting cPanel user/pass.i'll first install
a new 2.5 and then finish the conversion and replace the old one with the new”
So be clear about what you
need to start the work, if possible state the reason why you need the
information too.
After I had finished the work
I sent him this message
“hello site is done.i copied old articles
and categories and introduced a new category frontpage for the featured
posts.you did not provide any template so i got one.password is as you said”
As you can see I mentioned
the using of new template here. Reply from the buyer was
“The template to be used should have been
the one already there! This was an UPGRADE between versions, not a re-design of
the site. Hopefully you kept backup copies of what was there previously?”
I replied saying that in
joomla its not possible to keep the old template while updating to a new
version and I wouldnt change it deliberately .Joomla uses templates based on
its versions.a template for 1.0 will simply not work in 2.5.I also assured him
that I did keep backup of the old site.I also suggested some similar black
joomla templates.
Note that I did assure him of
his question about backup.
Then I tried to change the
template to a 2.5 version, which was failed. I asked him if it was possible to
use just another template. He replied why the template was so important.
“As far as the template is concerned, the game itself is about Outer Space, so images like stars and planets. This is how it looked in v1.0. Could you possibly duplicate that for an additional fee? If not, that's OK, but I'll have to have someone else do that work. Let me know, please! Thanks.”
I started working on the
template from a new angle and gave him the update
“ okay i deleted the template folder and
reuploaded it,now its working.i hope you are satisfied with the site “
I finished the template as
far as I could but he didn’t reply and the job was not stated finished in
freelancer site.So I waited for 2 days and asked him
“is everything alright?im kind of waiting
for the payment. “
Being a good man that he is, the
buyer replied
“ I'm going to need to get
someone to re-work the original template in order to satisfy my customer, but I
appreciate your attempt at it.”
“ Would it be possible to zip the
files from the old template so I can pass them along to whoever eventually
re-creates it?Thanks.”
I told him the way I backuoed
his site it’s still possible to revert to the old one anytime and use the old
template to upgrade.
“your old site is still there, renamed
folder "joomlax",including the mysql database.and the template is
there too.one can just rename the folder to "joomla" and upload the
mysql db to see the old site.i'll send you the old template now”
And I also sent him the old
template
After one day he replied
“I just sent you $22.50 in a milestone I
had created previously, so please delete this invoice and send a revised one
for the balance due which is $7.50. Thanks!”
Now the milestone was created
at first when I started the work but it was not released, so I replied
“ okay i just edited and sent you a
7.50 4INVOICE.ALSO I'VE REQUESTED THE 22.5 MILESTONE TO BE"RELEASED"”
Then there was this confusing
conversation
“I thought I released that milestone
payment yesterday, but today it looks like it's not. But when I attempted to
release it, it first said unavailable, and then had it broken into two parts -
a $7.50 and a $15.00. So is that the $7.50 you just invoiced (and I paid) or is
the original $22.50 milestone milestone broken into two parts? I'm SOOO confused!
I guess the question is this
- how much have you received from me in total so far?”
My reply was
“i've
received 15$ in milestone, but my account is showing 17.50$,this is
confusing!anyway,i was charged 5$ by freelancer,so at best i'll receive 25$
from you.you need to release 7.50$ milestone and i'll have 17.50+7.50=25$ in
total.thank you
also can you mark the project
done or completed?thank you”
The job was then officially
finished.
Then I encountered the 5$
problem. The help I asked from him was answered generously .
“ hello,there has been a
problem,i was hoping you could help me.I now have 25$ in my account, the lowest
amount I can withdraw to mooneybookers is 30$.So I can not withdraw this
25$.And also,I can not bid on any new project as freelancer is saying I have 0
bids left.To get to bid on new projects,I need to pay .50$ from my moneybooker
account to freelancer, which would not be a problem if I could move the 25$ to
moneybooker in the first place. Can you help me in this situation?I need 5$ more
in my freelancer.com acc to move the total of 30$ to moneybooker and then pay
freelancer 50 cent to bid on new projects.Hoping to hear from you”
The buyer replied
“Sure - you went above and beyond the
scope of the work trying to fix the template for me, so I've sent a $5 bonus
payment to you.”
Next I ran into the same kind
of problem and sent him this
“ hello,sorry to bother you
again.i am having the same problem again.today i accidentally clicked on
"take an exam"and it cost me 5$.had i known it,i would have never
clicked.anyway,my balance is again 25$.i'm very much ashamed to ask you,can you
help me again”
This ends the conversation. He didn’t reply
anymore. The problem was solved though, which you know by now.
Problem with withdrawing the money again
In freelancer there are many
exam taking process, in which they give an exam with an amount of fee and
upgrades my profile with the result. This is good for skill upgrade.
I had 30$ in my account and
was waiting for it to be withdrawn to moneybookers. As a rule the first withdraw
from freelancer takes some time. That is when the problem caused.
I accidentally clicked on
“Basic English” exam, which cost me 5$ instantly. There was no “Are you sure you
want to pay 5$ for this exam?” or any kind of confirmation. They just deducted
5$ from my account and presented me with the exam.
I was very very broken
hearted.It was a mistake from my part,and now I can’t withdraw my money.I’ll
have to wait for my next job.
I did not take the exam.I was
not in the right mood for an exam. And honestly I felt cheated. They should’ve
asked a confirmation before they took my 5$.You have to be careful too.
I asked my buyer for help
againThis time he didn’t respond. He must’ve thought I was asking money again as
he gave me money before. And I was like milking him.I’m not complaining against
him.It was normal for him to suspect that.
Then I had an idea. What about
asking freelancer to refund the money,as I haven’t yet taken the exam? This was
part of my mail sent to them.
Refund exam fee
Sat, Mar 2, 2013 at 11:52 AM
To: support@freelancer.com
username:……..
I had 30$ in my account and
was waiting for it to be transferred to
moneybooker site.I
accidentally clicked on an "English Exam buy"
button and now I've 25$ in my
account.But freelancer does not allo
25$ to be transferred to
moneybooker.I haven't taken the exam yet.Can you please cancel the exam and
refund the 5$ so that I can move the 30$ to mooneybookers?I desperately need
the money.
Thank you.
They replied saying it was
not their policy to refund, but they made a special consideration in my case!
“In general, our fees are non-refundable
unless stated otherwise. However, we have reviewed and considered to refund the
fees charged for the US English Level 1. Note that this was granted out of courtesy
but for one time consideration only.”
On the next day,my 5$ was
back! They did refund the money!I was so happy with freelancer then. They are
reasonable people there as I can see.I thank them here today.
Problem with withdrawing the money
This was my first job at
freelancer and the job was for 30$. Freelancer took 5$,and it left me with 25$.
But the minimum amount of
money I could withdraw from them to moneybookers is 30$!This made me chilled to
the bone.I was not sure when am I going to get a new job, pass the 30$ mark and
withdraw the money.I was in need of that money too.
So I asked the buyer for help, being
a very helpful and kind person,he sent me a 5$ bonus! You can see this portion
in the Conversation part.
You may be thinking “Okay the
problem is over”.Wait for the next part.
How I finished my first freelancer job
As you know now,it was a
joomla up gradation job, from 1.0 to latest 2.5. The amount was 30$. Now there
is no easy way to do this. You have to manually setup a new 2.5 site and then
copy everything from 1.0 to there. Anyway, the
employer didn’t have a cPanel. I had to setup the new site in a free
host, then copy everything and and move it to the original client’s website. It
was a lot of work. But I did it by working for like 4/5 hours.
Then came the real problem.
In upgrading joomla, I had set up a new site, and 1.0 templates doesn’t work in
2.5.And my employer had a custom made theme for the 1.0 site.
I used a theme picked by
myself. And he didn’t like it at all.He wanted the template like before.
Then started the hardest part
of the work. I tried to make the 2.5 template as much like the 1.0 template. It
didn’t look much like it. But my employer was a good man and he gave me the
money. He said he would have someone do the template for him. It somewhat
finished the job.
But the problem was not over
by a long shot.
How I got my first freelance job

The night I finished my
profile making at freelancer, I got my first job there
There is a option where they
show you jobs similar to what you chose in making your profile before, so I was
browsing through them and saw some joomla and wordpress and site moving works.
So I bid on them.
I bid the lowest on all of
them.
And after some minute, I was
awarded with my first job.
It was a joomla up gradation
job, from 1.0 to latest 2.5
Making profile on freelancing sites
iffat
No comments
I started making profile on
the two sites I thought were the biggest. I also tried to open a profile on
another site, but it needed a national id card to complete it. So it’s at a
paused state now.
Making profile at the sites
is usually a long process. But you have to stick with it and finish it. I
worked like 1 hour or more in each site to complete the profiles. They want
previous experience there, and a portfolio option too. I used my three
experience.
I made an html website and
earned 1st prize in college annual science contest.
I made website for university
department, which is a big thing.
I made a client site, this
was my one and only online work that earned me money.
Now if you don’t have such
works, don’t worry. They are really easy to learn. You can experiment and
decide which type of website you want to develop. And you can do other stuff
too. There are a lot of options to choose from at the freelancing sites.
Then came a part where you
choose your area of expertise on the site. This helps in finding works later.
The works that come up will be according to what you select at this stage. But
you can’t select every type of work there. There are limits to how many work
areas you can select.
Why I started freelancing

I had thought of earning
money by freelancing before. I know pretty good joomla and how to host it, move
it and related stuff. But when I went to freelancing sites all I saw was people
asking for completely new plugins and components. I don’t know coding very
much. I can change a part of a code to my suiting very easily. But making a new
plugin or component was out of the question. It was all 3 years ago. So I
decided to end my earning online by freelancing trial.
Then 3 years passed. All my
friends are earning a good lot of money by private tutoring. I can tutor too.
I’m like one of the best in my student career. For some reason it didn’t work
out.
In the meantime, I had
developed a joomla site for my university department. I had learnt a lot then.
I was confident I could do some professional work.
Also I worked for a person at
a typical small freelancing site and earned some bucks. He was very nice and
western unioned me the money. He also bought me 10+7 domain names. So I had
experience of working online. I thought I should give it a go with the big
freelancing sites.
